Scope Energy

What are Scope Emissions?

Scope emissions are categories used to measure and report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions based on how directly they’re tied to your operations. They’re defined by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and help organizations understand their carbon footprint across three levels:

Emissions from sources that are owned or controlled by the building or organization. Examples are on site fuel combustion (natural gas boilers, furnaces)

Scope 2 - Indirect Emissions from Purchased Energy
